On July 5, 1937
the first experimental transatlantic commercial flight departed the Bay of
Exploits,
Newfoundland and successfully landed in Foynes, Ireland the next day.
This flight resulted in progress never before imagined and created countless
possibilities, specifically one of international human connectivity. This
first in aviation history was followed by another 492 scheduled flights that
eventually ended in 1945 due to advances in aviation technology.
